Purpose
To quickly support activists and environmental defenders facing personal or organizational emergency situations, consequences of the work they do every day, defending the territory and natural resources.
Context
This line of funding is permanently open and people who suffer threats and intimidation directly linked to their work to guarantee access and governance of natural resources, community organizations that directly support environmental defenders at risk, defenders or organizations that are currently criminalized or generating legal cases against the government and companies to protect the environmental human rights of local communities can request support.
The resources can be used in one or more of the following strategies:
- Legal assistance.
- Actions to raise awareness and influence.
- Protection and self-care measures.
- Funds for the Relocation of Environmental Defenders and their families in emergency situations.
How to access FUPA?
The interested organization or activist must download and complete the following form and then send it to the email plurales@plurales.org with the subject URGENT FUND and the name of the organization or person requesting it.
